Troop 714 has a manual called Campfire Cooking Made Easy that gives some good advice on how to set up for cooking outdoors.
There are lots of sites on the Internet that have advice and recipes for outdoor cooking. The following list is a good starting point if you're new to cooking or just looking for some new recipes.
The MacScouter
Cooking page has a large number of links to recipes. We especially recommend the Troop 928 cookbook because it has some real-world advice for Scouts.
The Ol' Buffalo Outdoor Cooking Page
has links to thousands of recipes. This is one of the largest collections of recipes and
cookbooks we've seen.
The Cooking
Merit Badge page at MeritBadge.com has lots of good links too.
Scouter magazine has a page with lots of links for Outdoor Cooking Skills.
USScouts.org also has a cooking page with a few additional
recipes and links.
Netwoods
Virtual Campsite has an extensive list of recipes and other outdoor cooking resources
The Just Recipes site has a section called Just Camping Recipes.
The Searchable Online Archive of Recipes (SOAR) has a small section of camping
recipes. I like the sound of "Campfire Cake in an Orange Shell".
The Chuckwagon
Diner has several categories of recipes, including a section of breakfast recipes.
The Fabulous Foods site has a section called Camper's Cookbook.
The Reynolds Aluminum
Kitchens site has lots of recipes. Search for "packet cooking" for campfire recipes.
A Taste of Outdoor Cooking has tips on Dutch oven cooking.
